The Susquehanna Basset Hound Club was founded in Pennsylvania in 1955 by a group of avid Basset Hound fanciers. Members at that time were primarily interested in competing with their Bassets in field trials and showing their hounds in the breed ring.  Current members have interests and backgrounds in field trials, conformation showing, obedience, rally, agility, tracking, hunt tests, and pet therapy. The SBHC holds a spring and a fall field trial in addition to two combined specialty shows, in August in Red Lion, PA.   The shows are held on the same day;  a morning show and an afternoon show, and both are majors. Whatever your interest; whether it is competing with your hound, or you would like to meet other Basset Hound enthusiasts, visit or participate in our events, or you just love your Basset, welcome to the Susquehanna Basset Hound Club.
